This concept for The Wine Rack involves creating a graphic system that simplifies wine selection by breaking down complex flavours and palates into approachable, easy-to-understand categories. Whether you're a seasoned wine lover or a complete novice, the system will provide clear, engaging visuals and descriptions that make finding the perfect bottle fun and accessible. By demystifying wine, it will help customers confidently explore new flavours, enhancing their tasting experience and making wine enjoyment something everyone can appreciate. The system developed was designed to fit with the existing brand to create a seamless and immersive experience.

Research-Driven Design

The design process involved using the existing Wine Rack logo as a symbol. Each "grape" in the symbol represents a different characteristic of the wine. Building on that, each of the six characteristics has a range that is represented by a system of icons. The design of these icons was rooted in the research behind each characteristic and how it affects the wines flavour and feel. Lastly, depending on what colour the symbol is represents the style of the wine.

The Wine Rack is known for its approachable, convenient locations and friendly staff, and specializes in making wine shopping easy and enjoyable. It’s the go-to place for both casual wine drinkers and enthusiasts looking to discover something new. The implementation of an informative system in Wine rack will allow customers who are uncertain about types of wines, what to try, or where to start to be less intimidated and able to make informed decisions about what wine to get. It will also serve to benefit experienced wine drinkers in making the identification of the aspects of each bottle clear and simple.
