Ever Thought Ottawa Was Boring?

So many people, including myself, say that Ottawa is a boring City. But I've learned you just need to know where to go. Every summer my Dad creates a calendar of events happening in the City and I was inspired by some of those memories to create these cans! The brewery these cans were designed for, Kichesippi Beer Co. is a local brewery that loves to be involved in the community and events so this concept was the perfect fit. The Idea was to have the Brewery partner with these events to partner with the events to advertize not only the new flavours and can designs, but the events themselves. Helping to prove that Ottawa ain't so bad!    

The event I chose for the first can is the Gatineau hot air balloon festival or Festival de Montgolfieres. Me and my family have gone out at the crack of dawn to the Rockcliffe park lookout to see the balloons for many years. However, some of my favourite memories are from when they get cancelled due to the wind conditions and we've come all that way to just be the first customers of a breakfast place downtown. Each of the cans follows a comic book inspired theme, with cutouts depicting the location and aspects of the events. Sky High Citrus has a bright and colourful can showing the location and a bit of the story of this event.   

The second event I've chosen to highlight takes place in the evening to give some variety. This can is partnered with Capital Pop-Up Cinema, who hold many outdoor movie nights in various locations throughout the City. However, my personal favourite location is the Beechwood Cemetery. Who would've thought a cemetery would be the perfect place to watch Empire Records? And yes, they do classic horror movies as well! Keeping with the comic book cutout theme, this can again is representing night time events. So to honour this and the classic movies the cinema shows this can was done in black and white to give those night time vibes.
